My Robotic Pickup truck

I built a robotic pickup truck a couple days ago with my vex robotics kit. The main sections of the truck are the main body, the front, and the lights.

The main body contains all the cabling and the brain, gyro, and motors. The motors are in the back under the bed of the truck with the cabling in between, there just hooked up to the remote controller that i used to drive it around. The back of the truck also has a fold down back with a spare wheel.

The gyro was experimental and it currently has no functionality.

The Robot brain is underneath the front of the robot and controls everything.

The front of the truck was a large challenge to make because I had so little pieces to create the curvature that was required to create a realistic front of the robot truck. I ended up using two angle pieces and then just angling a couple pieces on top

Once I built the rest of the robot i decided that it needed lights. After testing I soon found out that the lights in the kit were too deep to fit in the space I had near were the headlights would normally go. My solution: put them up top.  Instead of fighting them in the front, I turned them into sort of and off road style roof mounted lights and that came out great. The cables from the lights even help the roof look more supported the way the cables come down from the roof
